Descriptive notes.
In most taxonomic lists Hume's Warbler is treated as a subspecies of P. inornatus. However, who have studied the two forms, believe them to be separate species, based on primary morphological differences, not only do their calls and songs differ, but so do their respective habitats and breeding distributions. Hume's Warbler, marginally larger than
P. inornatus, sometimes lacking full supercilium and even vestiges of front wing-bar and pale tertial-fringes. Legs darker than in P. inornatus, olive-to umber toned.
Habitat. In Himalayas mountain breeding zones up to 3000 m. In birch forest above conifer fores, descending in winter below 1500 m to dry deciduous forest, scrub, groves, gardens, and orchards, foraging high in trees as well as low in bushes.
