:אנפית סוף . האנפה הלבנה הקטנה ביותר, נראית לבנה רק במעופה . בשעת מנוחה נראית בצבע צהוב חולי, רק הכנפים, הזנב והבטן לבנים . בעונת הרביה הקודקוד והציצית הארוכה מפוספסים בשחור. המקור כחלחל וירקרק . בעונות האחרות, הרגלים צהובות ירוקות . בית גידולה ביצות, גדות נחלים ושיחים. מקננת על עצים. בטתולה 2-3 ביצים ירקרקות כחלחלות . בישראל עוברת אורח מצויה, מקננת במספר מושבות על עצים ושיחים בצפון הארץ ומרכזה ...האנפה למינה....נזכרת בין העופות הטמאים בספר ויקרא י"א 19 | ||||||||||

Descriptive notes.
45 cm, 300 gr, wingspan 89 cm. Bare parts brighter during courtship, when legs can be reddish. Non-breeding adult dull brown with dark and light streaks, as in other members ofArdeola . Juvenile as non-hreeding adult, but drabber, with more heavily streaked neck. Habitat. Fresh water swamps, river valleys, deltas, lakes, ponds, ditches and paddy fields, especially in areas with abundant covering of marsh vegetaion. Rare in coastal areas, including estuaries, in shore reefs or islets. Food and Feeding Fish and amphibians with insect larvae. Generaly small prey also grasshoppers, beetles, butterflies, spiders and small birds. Mainly crepuscular but also feeds by day, generally solitary, passive feeder, by hiding in vegetation and waiting for prey to approach. Breeding. Apr-Jun in Euraqsia and N Africa, during rains. Usually in small or large colonies. Nests near water, in reedbeds, dense thickets or trees. More effectively hidden amongst vegetation than in other herons Nest is well constructed platform. 2-3 eggs in Africa, 4-7 in Europe, chicks have grey, buff and white down. Movements. Palearctic populations migratory and dispersive. African populations mostly sedentary with some local movements. Birds from Madagascar cross over to Africa. Status and Conservation. Not globally threatend. In Europe population has shown marked fluctuations apparently on increasing. Israel. In Israel subspecies Ardeola ralloedes very common passage migrant winter visiter and sumer breeder. |
